Our overnight camp is located on the campus of Eastern University on Philadelphia’s Main Line, 15 miles west of Philadelphia. Eastern’s scenic campus includes Spanish Mission architecture, 3 ponds, gentle hills, wide lawns and wooded walks on over 100 rolling acres. Three hearty meals will be provided in the newly renovated campus dining hall.
The student-counselor ratio in the dormitories is 10 to 1. Campus security is on duty 24 hours a day. The students will stay for five nights in the air-conditioned dorms with 2 to 3 students per room in separate male/female facilities. Classroom facilities include the campus Auditorium, the Great Room at the dormitory and ample classroom spaces for acting classes and special seminars. There are even pianos back at the dormitory for evening coaching. This campus has it all.
The week is packed with daily workshops in singing, movement, scene study, improvisation, juggling, monologue preparation, jazz dance, tap dance and auditioning techniques. Evening programs will focus on vocal interpretation, stage combat, set design, playwriting, make-up application and design. The time between workshops is spent dining, swimming, practicing for the next class and playing Ultimate Frisbee on the lawn. Adult supervision is provided at all times.
